Chancellor Ray Cross announced Aug. 5 that UW Colleges will receive several grants from UW System’s new Growth Agenda for Wisconsin grants program. This fiscal year of 2012-13 is the first year for this program, which supports UW institutional efforts to advance the Growth Agenda for Wisconsin. UW Colleges is part of the following grants.
- Using Data Analytics to Improve Retention will create an early-warning system for students exhibiting at-risk academic behavior. In partnership with UW-Madison and UW-Platteville.
- Educational Opportunity Network for Rural Access to College will develop a collaborative recruitment model for seven UW campuses in rural areas. In partnership with UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stevens Point, UW-Stout and UW-Superior.
- STEM Transfer Students will increase the number of students persisting to BS-STEM degrees in western Wisconsin. In partnership with UW-Eau Claire and Chippewa Valley Technical College.
- Course Redesign in Developmental and Competency-level Mathematics will fund two conferences on this topic for UW System faculty, staff and administration. In partnership with UW-Eau Claire, UW-Platteville, UW-La Crosse, UW-Parkside and UW-Superior.
- Institutionalizing Undergraduate Research in the UW System will fund a conference to institutionalize research at the local and system level.
